Speaking ahead of the match, Rangers boss Mark Warburton said: "There's still 11 games to go there's a lot of points to play for still.

"A lot of difficult matches home and away to play and all we can focus on is our next game and that won't change."

St Mirren welcome back defender Keith Watson and teenager Stevie Mallan following recent suspensions.

Meanwhile, Jason Naismith, Jim Goodwin and Alan Gow are all pushing for starting places after recovering from injuries.

Buddies manager Alex Rae said: "We responded well to our defeat by Queen of the South a couple of weeks ago by defeating Dumbarton last Saturday to make it three wins from our last four games.

"We know that we face a tough task against Rangers and we will go there and look to do ourselves justice, however Morton's success over Hibs in midweek has reminded everyone that unexpected results can happen in football."
