This one is perfectly poised with Sparta taking a slender 1-0 lead into this important second leg tie against Krasnodar.
Krasnodar have developed into one of the most competitive teams in European football over recent years. They have a tough, all action approach to the game and manage to combine that with a real goal scoring consistency that makes them an incredible tough proposition. It was no mean feat to be top a group that contain a rejuvenated and resurgent Borussia Dortmund side and the Russians will have taken huge confidence from that. The team will believe they have what it takes to overturn the 1-0 deficit but will have to be careful not to push on too early in the match.
Sparta have been on a superb winning run recently, having been victorious in their previous four matches. A solid display against Krasnodar in the first leg saw the side take a slim 1-0 lead into the second leg and whilst it is hardly an insurmountable goal tally, they will have been pleased to go to Russia with something to defend. What’s more the side will realise that if they can grab a second goal, perhaps through a quick break, they will put Krasnodar in an incredibly difficult position. It will be interesting to see how Praha set up in this one and whether or not they try to play Krasnodar on the break.
