Reported Chelsea transfer target sends message to Eden Hazard

Axel Witsel has taken to social media to wish Eden Hazard a happy birthday amid speculation linking the midfielder with a January transfer to Chelsea.

The west London side are said by the Daily Mail to have attempted to sign Witsel during the summer transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

The same newspaper is now reporting that Chelsea are ready to battle with Tottenham Hotspur to secure the services of the 26-year-old, who appears set to leave Zenit Saint-Petersburg during the January transfer window.

And Witsel’s latest post on social media will only serve to fuel talk of a possible move to Stamford Bridge for the midfielder this month.
