Southampton will be looking to return to winning ways when they make the short trip to south-coast rivals AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

A defeat to Chelsea on Saturday ended a run of six games unbeaten for Ronald Koeman’s men, while Fraser Forster’s run without conceding came to an end at 708 minutes.

Despite the defeat, Saints will be confident of picking up the win having beaten the Cherries 2-0 earlier in the season at St Mary’s thanks to goals from Steven Davis and Graziano Pellè.

Eddie Howe’s side, who are without a win in their last four games in all competitions, head into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw at Watford.

The Cherries last tasted success at Vitality Stadium back in mid-January, when they comfortably saw off the challenge of Norwich City – though they have beaten Crystal Palace away from home since then, and knocked Portsmouth out of the Emirates FA Cup.

The two sides will meet at the home of the Cherries for the first time since March 2011, when Saints came away with all three points thanks to a 3-1 success.
